In celebration of the first day of summer next week I thought i’d chat about one of my favorite items in my closet! a maxi dress is one of my favorite outfit’s to throw on in the summer! I love the versatility of a maxi and how easy it makes you look like you’ve really put some thought into your outfit. In reality you’ve just grabbed a pair of sunglasses, bold earrings, cute flats and whala you’re looking like you just step off the pages of people magazine.

Just remember, all maxi’s are not created equally. Always try them on before you buy. If you are smaller up top and short, an empire waisted maxi will help accentuate your features and elongate you. Boy shape? Look for a maxi that is cinched lower more towards your waist and throw on a belt to fake your curves and of course make sure the length is correct! For my short girls you can always have the perfect fitting maxi hemmed, but ladies over 5’6 mid calf maxi’s are not a good look, so try those babies on first!
