    New York City Fashion

In exactly one week i’ll be hitting the streets of NYC! One of my seniors had a special request, she wanted her senior pictures to be done in New York City. Nope…. can’t go, said no one ever!!! Since I spent 18 months in New York, I jumped on email and quickly arranged a hair & make up artist for our super chic session.

I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our upcoming trip that to pull out some of my favorite images from my time spent in New York!

    Tres Chic Tuesday: Geometric Style

    GEO STYLE

pretty much obsessed with the geometric style that has been gracing boutiques nationwide. what makes me the most happy is you can take all of the other hot styles this season, like the color of the season emerald, neon colors, maxi dresses and crops and the geometric style works with all of them. Be on the look out for not only geometric patterns in your wardrobe but also accessories. Necklaces, earrings, scarves and maybe even a shoe or two !

Will you choose geometric style for YOUR senior pictures?

    Behind the Scenes

ever wonder exactly what happens during my photo shoots?
If so, you clearly haven’t stalked me enough, but thats ok!  :)

.a quick look into my world.

    HAIR & MAKEUP

each shoot starts out with professional makeup. i always recommend that you come in with some idea about the “look” you are going for.

I have a board on pinterest dedicated to the latest trends in makeup & hair. but in case you’ve forgotten my makeup artists are pretty fabulous and will take a look at the outfit’s you’ve brought and choose a look that will flow with your wardrobe.

After your makeup looks flawless, we work the hair. Molding, straightening, curling, teasing, until it’s just perfect.

    THE SHOOT

I know what it feels like to stand in front of a camera thinking
“umm what do i do with my hand, do i smile? how about these legs, oh geez i hope i don’t look fat”

since I remembered how much I HATED THAT, i figured everyone else did as well. No hand will be left unposed, “smizing” is encouraged & “move your head here” will be heard often. I’m the first born, bossy comes naturally to me, what can I say? :)

Miss Amelia | Louisville Couture photography for women

meet miss amelia. Amelia is one of my fabulous makeup artists who works with me to help make over women during their glam sessions. Amelia had an extreme fear of my camera, i’d offered to take her portraits before, to which i received a very fast head shake NO! But when it comes to photography, usually I don’t take no for an answer.  I wanted to show amelia what I saw, I wanted to show her her beauty. I knew if I could just get her in front of my camera I could help her see it. So I begged, and she finally caved allowing me to give her a glam session, posing and coaching her through it.

My favorite quote from her was at the end of our shoot  ” now that wasn’t so bad, I think you cured my fear of being photographed”

that is why I love photography.

Let me capture your beauty. Come visit for your personal couture portrait session! Bring a friend, friends make any activity more fun!

tres chic tuesdays – how to wear crop tops!

I never thought crop tops woud see the top of fashion lists again, but i was wrong and i’m sort of glad. I love crop tops as long as they are not paired with a super low rise pair of shorts or jeans. That’s the trick. Crop tops should be paired with high wasted items like shorts or long maxi skirts OR for your flowy crops that have a bit longer length grap a cute pair of jean shorts or pants.
