Couture Portrait Photography for Women | Louisville

meet jessica! Jessica had some crazy amazing hair and the perfect “smize” ala Tyra Banks! I love giving women the “model” treatment for the day. Hair, Makeup, posing, direction, at the end I usually hear, “geez who knew being a model was so much work” LOL! I take that as a stamp of approval.

Big thanks to Rachel of Color me Beautiful for the wonderful hair & makeup!

It’s the ultimate girls day out! Come celebrate your relationships and enjoy a couture portrait session with your mom, sister, or best friend!

b.you – a local barre fitness studio | Louisville boutique photographer

    b.you

you might remember a post from last year for a new barre studio opening called bbarre! B Barre had a banner year, inspiring and changing women’s bodies all over louisville. They were so inspired by what they saw happening in their studio that they have decided to expand into a modern fitness boutique focusing on women, and changing their name to simply b.you! their manifesto is inspring and i love the concept around having a fitness studio where women can come to work out but also socialize and share life together.  of course a new brand wouldn’t be complete with out a new photo shoot as well!

Mothers Day – My Momma | Louisville Portrait Photographer

” Grown don’t mean nothing to a mother. A child is a child. They get bigger, older, but grown? What’s that supposed to mean? In my heart it don’t mean a thing.”

    – Toni Morrison, Beloved, 1987

as soon as I thought i was “grown” (which was probably 14ish) i can remember rolling my eyes and telling my mother ” yes mom, i’m XYZ age, I know” huffing and puffing around like she has some nerve trying to worry over me, I mean really, can you believe that a mother would worry over her daughter? How ridiculous, right! :)

Well, now that i’m at the ripe old age of 30, i’m seeing my friends have children, i’m gaining nieces and nephews and for the first time in my life I think i understand just a little bit what it means to worry like a mom.

This mothers day I celebrate my mom. the mom who from age 5 when I was diagnosed with dyslexia refused to allow me to think i was stupid. Who sat with me hours on end teaching me the proper way to write letters, or how the piano notes were really going up and not down. The mom who told me that one day i’d be wildly successful if I just worked hard. The mom who found me my first job. who let me drag her around purdue even sitting standing in the front row of the student section to watch my favorite sport, football. The mom who didn’t flinch when I told her I was moving thousands of miles away to Dallas, but i’m sure was crying when we hung up. The mom who’s faithfully moved me and visited me in every random city i’ve lived in for the past 8 years. And the mom who has always told me to follow my dreams, even if they are unconventional, a little scary, and a big risk. She’s always the first person to ask how she can help and is definitely my biggest cheerleader.

      – Thank you mom for being you, for your big heart and unconditional love.  I love you

Mom’s are usually not fan’s of having their portraits taken but I wanted to show my mother just how beautiful she is and give her an afternoon of pampering. so after a little convincing she allowed it.

This mothers day schedule an afternoon for you & your mother to be pampered and photographed!  There is nothing I cherish more than photographs of my momma and me!
